The Best Vape Pen for E-Liquid in Australia – 2019

best vape pen in australia
Bigger than an e-cigarette and simpler than a box mod, the best vape pens for e-liquid are the perfect intermediate devices.

If you were lured into the world of vaping with a plain white electronic cigarette, you might eventually find yourself on the search for a vape mod or at least something a bit more powerful. E-cigs are great, but they don’t last that long, and they don’t produce all that much vapor.

Maybe you’ve already been vaping for a while and you want a second device to travel with you when you’re doing errands or when your main mod needs to charge.

Vape pens are slightly larger than e-cigs, and they have just a bit more oomph to them. They pack in more e-liquid and battery power per run, and they can usually provide a harder throat hit. On the other hand, they’re not too complicated. You turn them on, maybe you choose one of the pre-set power levels, and you inhale.

That’s about it.

You get more power, with less responsibility. Whoever thought they’d hear those words strung together, right?

It’s true though. Today vape pens even come with sub-ohm resistance levels! After all, this is the 21st century people!

What to Look for When Shopping for the Best Vape Pen for E-Liquid:

Not all vape pens are built equally.

If you’re on the hunt for the best vape pen for e-liquid, you need to know what to look for.

Battery life, tank size, resistance…which numbers are good numbers? We’re here to tell you exactly that. Whether you head down to your local vape shop or you’re just browsing online, here’s what you should keep in mind.

Vape Pen Batteries

A vape pen without a battery is like a car without an engine. The battery is, without a doubt, the most important component of your vaporizer. Not only will your battery determine how much power you can get on each hit, but it will also determine how long you can vape during each session.

So, there are really two numbers you should look for: amperage and capacity. The amperage, measured in amperes, is the current. If you can imagine water flowing through a pipe, the amperage refers to how much water can flow through at any given time. It essentially determines how high you can raise the wattage, so it’s pretty important.

The capacity is measured in milliampere hours, and this number refers to how many milliamperes you can draw continuously for an hour. If a vape pen boasts a battery capacity of 1500mAh, it can expend 1500 milliamperes in a single hour. Typically, vape pens are built with 600-750mAh, but large ones, sometimes called tube mods, may come with up to 3000mAh if they’re well-built.

However, you should be aware that batteries with a high capacity generally come with low amperage levels and vice versa.

Of course, this all assumes that the vape pen comes with an internal batteries. Many vape pens run on their own internal batteries, but just as many require removable 18650s. If the latter is true, then you’re going to have to put down a little more cash, but in return, you’ll get to choose batteries that suit your vaping style.

Vape Pen Tank Size

How large is your vape pen’s tank? An average vape pen tank is usually between two and three milliliters. Two to three milliliters should be more than sufficient for most vapers.

However, you’ll want to make sure to check the resistance level. Sub-ohm devices suck up juice much more quickly than standard devices. If you’re using any vaporiser with a resistance less than 1.0Ω, then you’re probably going to use something like 4-6ml of e-juice a day chainvaping.

Variable Voltage

Standard vape pens usually just come with a fire button. You press the fire button five times to power on the vape pen and you’re ready to go. Sweet and simple.

However, some vape pens come with what we usually call variable voltage. A vape pen with variable voltage can shift from firing at 3.7V to firing at 4.3V.

Usually with a few clicks of a button you can scroll through the various voltage settings and then confirm when it’s reached the right level. These settings aren’t going to be as sensitive as the ones on a mod, but they will allow you to adjust the power a little bit.

Variable voltage gives you the chance to increase or decrease the power output according to your preferences. A higher voltage setting will provide a harder throat hit and a bit more vapor. Depending on your mood or even on the e-liquid flavor you happen to be vaping at the moment, you might want some flexibility.

Power Output

What is the maximum wattage your vape pen can reach? Some say power isn’t everything, but it will make a difference.

Standard vape pens might go up to 30W, and advanced ones might go up to about 60-80W if they’re really well-made. You’ll want to make sure your vape pen can reach your typical wattage range. Most vapers find that 30-50W is more than sufficient for them. If you’re looking for much more than that, you’re going to want to look for a larger device anyway.

You’ll also want to make sure your vape pen has adjustable airflow control. As you raise the wattage, you’re going to want to adjust the airflow accordingly so you can get enough vapor. That way you can also close the airflow to get a mouth-to-lungs vape and open it again to inhale the vapor directly into your lungs.

Maybe the design isn’t your main criteria, but it certainly shouldn’t be last priority.

Today, you can find vape pens in any color you can imagine. Pink, blue, gold, silver…you name it. They have it.

Don’t stop with just one color though. Go for a marbled resin exterior or a metallic neon tie dye.

Colors not your thing? We love the rose gold brushed aluminum finish and carbon fiber decals too.

Shop around. The choices are endless. We’ve even seen vape pens designed specifically for the World Cup!
